Theaters to visit in Florida

Whenever I have some time off from work, I love to take in a show or concert at a local theater. Vacation is the perfect opportunity to enjoy an evening at the theater, and Florida has some fantastic venues which receive visits from world-class performers and touring Broadway productions. Here are some of my favorite venues in the state to visit on your next trip.

Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts

Located in Miami, this center opened in 2006 and has the second-largest performing arts stage in the US. The 2,400 seat Ziff Ballet Opera House showcases Broadway shows throughout the year, and upcoming shows touring to this venue include Dear Evan Hansen and Wicked.

Broward Center for the Performing Arts

Located in Fort Lauderdale, this massive complex opened back in 1991. Many Broadway shows make stops here, performing in the Au-Rene Theater. Previously it has received visits from top shows such as Hamilton, so check out what is on during your next trip and enjoy a night out here with your family and friends. Nearby, and run by the Broward Center, is The Parker Playhouse. Here you can enjoy solo concerts from top Broadway stars.

Straz Center for the Performing Arts

Located in downtown Tampa, this venue is set on nine acres and includes five theaters and three restaurants. You can enjoy a full evening out here with a delicious dinner before your show. It’s one of the largest centers of its type in the area, and regularly enjoys Broadway show visits in its Morsani Hall, which seats 2,610 people.

Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts

Escape the theme parks for an evening, and head to Downtown Orlando to enjoy a show. The 2,700 seat Walt Disney Theater hosts between six and nine productions from Broadway each year. It only opened back in 2014, so it is a modern and comfortable venue to enjoy a show in. Downtown Orlando is a great area for a night out, and you can enjoy many great bars and restaurants here before or after your show.

The Florida Theatre

If you are looking to visit a more historical venue, enjoy a night out in Jacksonville’s The Florida Theatre. Located near the city’s beaches and landmarks, check out this venue that was built in the 1920s. It opened in 1927, and more than 5 million people have visited the site since. It even held a special performance by none other than Elvis Presley in 1956. The theater aims to provide unique events and educational experiences and continues to offer a diverse range of entertainment, including musical and cultural showcases.

As you can see, Florida has some fantastic venues for a night out. The area really does have something for everyone, regardless of your interests. If you are looking for another special experience on your next trip, consider fishing in Cape Coral Florida with Blue Line Fishing LLC. It’s the perfect way to see another side of Florida and enjoy the beautiful weather and nature that the state has to offer.
